From a father’s love of wine to the daughter he shared it with, a story rooted in great pairings began. Today, our family continues to explore what’s possible when just the right elements come together.

FEATURED WINE

2018 Ella’s Reserve Pinot Noir

Winner

2022 SF International Wine Competition Gold Medal

The 2018 vintage started out very dry and unseasonably warm. February brought the necessary rainfall to get us back on track and push back bud break a few weeks. As Spring continued, the weather oscillated between rain and warm weather creating near perfect conditions for flowering and fruit set. The long bloom resulted in small loose clusters with berries of varying sizes, known as “hens and chicks.” Not only does this provide adequate airflow to resist mold, it provides great phenolic development of the grapes. Though the harvest was very large, the quality was very high and the vines were in perfect balance, resulting in wines which display maximum site expression and intensity.

Classic in style, the 2018 Ferrington is bright and focused with aromas of violets, crushed cherry, citrus peel and plum. Fresh summer fruit dominates the mouth with flavors of red currant, black cherry and bramble. A firm acidity and smooth mouthfeel lead to a long mineral finish of wet riverstone, black tea and delicate strawberry.

“A full-bodied reflection of Anderson Valley character.”

FERRINGTON IN FOCUS

Welcome to the epicenter of
Anderson Valley wine growing.

Our family’s Ferrington Vineyard has a rich history, bringing care and craft to the growing of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer since 1996. This land was first planted in 1969 by Balvern Vineyards and was purchased by our family’s patriarch, Kurt Schoeneman, in 1996.

With a cool climate similar to the legendary Burgundy growing region in France, it’s no wonder that we source most of our grapes from storied Ferrington Vineyard.

Other wineries we have joined in partnering with Ferrington include: Williams-Selyem, Arista, J. Davies, Schramsberg, Poe, FEL, Auteur, Saxon Brown, Flowers, Black Kite, Texture and others.
